The Top 4 Things I Grew In 2024

Here I am with all of the leafy greens I grew on my balcony in 2024

It’s not quite the end of the year, but a lot of my flowers and veggies are coming in hot, so I thought I would do a round up of the best things I grew in 2024.

I started the year very slowly (AKA planting nothing), but decided halfway through the year I did want to grow a lot of veggies and flowers after all. Thankfully, I decided this just before spring and was rewarded with lots of great weather to get started in.

I’ve included the 4 standout winners from my garden over spring and summer, and you may like a copy of my seasonal planting calendar below if you’re planting in different seasons!

#1 Silverbeet

The silverbeet on the very end grew so well and I ate it for months

#2 Zinnia

A beautiful bunch of Oklahoma Pink zinnia that I grew in my big garden plot

Another variety of zinnia I grew in my plot, this one is called Little Flower Girl 

#3 Tomatoes

 I wasn’t that excited about growing cherry tomatoes…until I tasted them — superb!

These little cherry tomatoes look like jewels!

#4 Amaranth

The surprise packet of the year had to be amaranth

It was a surprise because I didn't plant it and it grew metres high
