When Do Hydrangeas Bloom In Australia? (And A Few Fave Varieties)
Hydrangeas are one of the most sought after cut flowers, with their beautiful domes of flowers in all the prettiest colours.
If you are wondering when hydrangeas bloom in Australia because you’re keen to get your hands on them, they are usually in flower from December through to April. If you are growing your own, I recommend you keep them in part shade at this time of year so they don’t wilt. Their name includes the word hydra, so they need a lot of hydration (aka watering) too. I water mine morning and night during summer.
There are lots of awesome varieties and colours of hydrangeas, and of course you can change the colour of your flowers by changing the pH of your soil, but I have a huge soft spot for the pure white hydrangea Annabelle variety pictured below.
Check out my Seasonal Calendar below too which includes a range of flowers and when to plant them. Happy planting!
