FREE! 2024 Veggie Planting Calendar

I’ve come up with my own yearly standard for what veggies to plant each season in my own garden

Hi everyone,

I’ve created a very simple seasonal planting calendar for anyone who wants to know what veggies to plant now across Australia.

I plant the bulk of my vegetables at the start of Autumn and the start of Spring where I live in Brisbane, because I like to avoid the extreme cold and extreme heat where I can.

This calendar is for all of Australia, so just apply this same idea to your own area. For example, plant most of your veggies in the milder times like autumn and spring for hot climates like Queensland, or plant the bulk of your veggies in late spring and summer for climates that get freezing winters like Canberra or Tasmania.

I’ve included what I’m personally growing in 2023 below and some options for different cities too. Happy growing!

Summer: Rocket, Cos Lettuce, Basil, Endive
Autumn: Silverbeet, Spinach, Kale, Coriander
Winter: n/a - taking a break!
Spring: Lettuce, Tatsoi, Basil, Snow Peas
