What Flowers To Grow Now In Sydney, By The Seasons

Fergus with his fragrant sweet peas, a good flower to plant in Sydney in March

I may have mentioned once or twice that I’ve been feeling a bit stifled by having only a small space to grow in currently. As a result, I have been living vicariously through my brother Fergus’ garden in Sydney. He has been keeping me up to date (FaceTime and a constant stream of photos) with what flowers he has been growing and as I looked back at them wistfully I realised they captured what flowers to grow in Sydney, season by season!

While there are almost unlimited options of what you can grow, you’ll see below that Fergus only focuses on growing 1-3 different varieties each season, but plants quite a lot of each variety (e.g. 20 sunflowers, 15 marigold etc).

I’ve included some of the best flowers to grow in Sydney throughout the year below, as confirmed by Ferg’s garden success!
