Cosmos are one of the most beautiful and exciting flowers that can easily be grown at home. I’ve been growing cosmos in my backyard and balcony in Brisbane for almost a decade and have learned a lot!

When to plant cosmos? Summer!

When To Plant Cosmos In Australia

Cosmos is always a flower I recommend growing in Australia because it is one of the few flowers that is really happy in hot weather. For that reason, the best time to plant cosmos is in spring and summer. I’ve tried planting it when it in autumn and it was a bit so-so!

#1 Cosmos Purity: is a classic white flower with a yellow centre (see below). Buy at Southern Harvest.
#2 Cosmos Cupcake Blush: is a sweet blush pink variety with double petal heads (see below). Buy at Transition Farm.
#3 Cosmos Rubenza: is a deep burgundy variety of cosmos (see below). Buy at The Diggers Club.
