5 More Summer Flowers To Grow In Brisbane

Nothing like transporting flowers in your car! These are dahlias, cosmos, zinnia and Black-eyed Susans from my backyard flower patch.

#1 Dahlias are one of the most beautiful flowers to grow in Brisbane this summer and there are so many varieties to choose from. These beauties from my backyard include the pink African Peach and white Astrid Coorabell varieties.

#2 Zinnias with their layers of petals are a true beauty and a great flower to grow in summer because they thrive in the heat. I love this bright pink variety.

#3 Amaranth are a brilliant cut flower to grow if interesting and unusual is your style (it’s definitely mine). The long plumes are so cool!

#4 Echinacea, also known as coneflowers, are one of the most stunning summer flowers to grow in Brisbane and a bonus is that they attract a lot of pollinators! These ones got pummelled by a mega hail storm, but they still look amazing.

#5 Black-eyed Susans are an often forgotten option when it comes to summer flowers to grow in a Brisbane - they are like a smaller heat-loving sunflower making them perfect for our weather conditions.
