Fergie’s Spring Courtyard Flowers

Flower king Ferg and a bunch of huge homegrown flowers in his Sydney courtyard

On a recent trip to Sydney, I stopped by for my annual sneak peek into my brother Fergus’ garden and as luck would have it the timing was right and everything was in bloom!

His garden is a perfect example of some of the best spring flowers to grow in Sydney too: he had sunflowers, bright orange calendula and amazing green Bells Of Ireland all growing in his courtyard garden beds - each of them producing large amount of flowers from just a few plants. And because they were organic and homegrown, the scent was absolutely awesome too.

But that wasn’t all. On his balcony he also had stunning purple sweet peas (the variety is called Leamington) that he grew from seeds he’d saved from last year. (You can see some of his sweet pea garden in this blog post). I’ve included photos of his garden below because the bunches are just too beautiful!

A boy and his Bells of Ireland - these ones self-seeded and he didn’t have to do anything but watch them grow! (and water them!)
