If you’re looking for an expert hand on how to grow dahlias in Australia or would love tips on how to arrange the perfect bunch, there are a range of dahlia workshops emerging in Australia to help.

For those who love to mingle in a group setting and make flower friends, there are fantastic part day and whole day workshops to sink your teeth into. And for the introverts among us (me) or those who prefer to learn on their own schedule, there are also some great online tutorials making growing dahlias that much more possible, even for the newbies among us.

Here are four great dahlia workshops in Australia to get that flower garden growing this summer!

First up is Southern Highlands Flower Farm’s in-person Friday Florals workshops based near Bundanoon in NSW. The 3 hour workshop runs from 10am-1pm on Fridays and is led by flower farmer Jen and floral designer Erica Downes. Together they provide insight into both flower growing and flower arrangement. The best part is you get to create and take home your own floral arrangement full of beautiful blooms! Keep up to date with all their events here. Workshop price is $295.

#2 Palmer and Gunn, Gold Coast

A couple of times a year, Palmer and Gunn collaborate with local dahlia experts on an in-person Dahlia Day where the group learns about the fundamentals of growing dahlias, and get to see Palmer and Gunn’s gorgeous cut flower dahlia flower next to the farm shed, in real life!
