What’s the next best thing to growing your own stunning dahlias? Looking at them through the pages of amazing dahlia books and living vicariously through the incredible arrangements that expert florists and growers share. While there are literally hundreds of flower books out there, here are 5 beautiful dahlia books that are a cut above the rest. Happy reading!

And if you are looking to grow your own dahlias at home this summer, you might like my Dahlia Sellers List (below) that I compiled with around 50 spots to find great dahlia tubers for sale in Australia.

The Flower Workshop by lauded florists Arialla Chezar is top of my dahlia book list. The stunning pages include 45 floral projects to help with arrangements at home, including, of course, dahlias. Must read!

#2 Floret Farm’s A Year In Flowers, Erin Benzakein

Erin Benzakein is Instagram’s undisputed flower queen and has a special love for dahlias in particular. Her book A Year In Flowers is one of my all time favourites because it shows how she puts together arrangements and thinks about colour, not to mention how she rows rows and rows of her own flowers! #pioneer

#3 In Bloom, Claire Nolan

UK-based Clare Nolan gave up a life as a stylist for magazines and became a flower farm and florist in the English countryside. Her book, In Bloom, (which she wrote, photographed and also styled herself!) is based on her journey to creating her beautiful farm from scratch. I love her stylist’s eye as well as her flowers, which includes lots of dahlias in summer.

#4 A Tree In The House, Annabelle Hickson

For an Australian flavour we have the divine Annabelle Hickson’s book A Tree In The House where Annabelle goes through some of the super creative seasonal flower projects at her home near Tenterfield in regional New South Wales. I love this book for its originality as well as the section that includes dahlias.

#5 From Seed To Bloom, Milli Proust

Last but not least is British actor-turned-flower-farmer Milli Proust’s new book From Seed To Bloom which chronicles her wild flower fields and the romantic floral arrangements she creates with flowers from each season, including dahlias. The photography and location is absolutely stunning!
