4 Things I Planted This Autumn (And How I Did It)
I’m obsessed with autumn in a gardening sense because I think it’s the very best time of year to grow vegetables in Brisbane. It’s especially the best time for those veggies that only thrive with some cold weather (autumn winners like carrots, kale, celery, broccoli and Brussels sprouts).
Because I live in a smaller space now and am using raised garden beds only (as opposed to a large garden bed), I’ve had to curtail what I planted to some key things and this April the 4 autumn vegetables that I recently planted are: carrots, lettuce, silverbeet and spinach. I’ve also added in some sunflowers in pots for the bees.
If you’d like to see exactly how I did that, I’ve finally created a series of short YouTube videos. I’ve put all the ones relating to growing autumn veggies in Brisbane below. I’ve only just planted all of these veggies, so stay tuned in a month or two for the final result where I get to eat and enjoy the fully grown veggies! Check out the videos below and if you’d like more ideas about great autumn vegetables to plant in Brisbane, I have a free planting calendar below too.
