Spring Vegetables To Grow In Melbourne
Spring in Australia means we get a perfect warm window to grow our veggies (before the heat becomes intolerable) and almost everything is happy to be planted and growing.
After a winter filled with hearty soups and roasted root vegetables, I love the change of pace with fresh spring vegetables and focus on lots of leafy greens for light salads.
If you’re looking for a list of spring vegetables to grow in Melbourne right now, I’ve included over 10 options I’ve had success with below, and if you would like more info on planting by the seasons check out my free Planting Calendar below too.

The herbs and veggies I have planted with success in spring include:
Leafy greens including spinach, silverbeet, rainbow chard, lettuce and rocket.
Traditional warm weather plants including cucumber, capsicum, eggplant and tomatoes (as long they are planted early on to give them a little head start before it gets too hot).
Hardy herbs including parsley, basil and edible marigolds.
