Growing Calendula In Sydney
Calendula has a lot of great uses. Obviously it is a stunningly beautiful flower, but it can also be used as a herbal tea and many organic skincare brands also use calendula for its healing properties.
If you are thinking of growing calendula in Sydney, my brother Fergus recently grew the most beautiful bunch in his inner city Sydney courtyard and is a great example to us all for how simple it is to grow at home (he grew it from seed too).
I’ve included a few simple steps below if you are looking to add bright calendula to your annual flower mix this spring. And if you are looking for other flower growing ideas, you might like my seasonal planting calendar below too. Happy growing!

Growing Calendula In Sydney | Tips
Fill up a seedling tray with potting mix (I use REKO trays and Searles potting mix)
Put a hole in each square and then pop one calendula seed in each square (1 only, trust me!)
Pat down, sprinkle lightly with water from a watering can (I use Nylex) and put into direct sunlight
A week later seedlings should have popped up
I keep the seedlings in the tray for a whole month to let them get to a good size before planting them in a garden bed or pots
