And if you are looking for more information about what flowers to plant across all the seasons, you might like my Seasonal Planting Calendar below too!

#1 Dahlias are one of the most beautiful flowers to grow in Sydney this summer and there are so many varieties to choose from. This red beauty is the Tom’s Dahlias from my own stock.

#2 Zinnias with their layers of petals are a true beauty and a great flower to grow in summer because they thrive in the heat. I love this bright pink variety.

#3 Amaranth are a brilliant cut flower to grow if interesting and unusual is your style (it’s definitely mine). The long plumes are so cool!

#4 Echinacea, also known as coneflowers, are one of the most stunning flowers to grow in summer and a bonus is that they attract a lot of pollinators!

#5 Black-eyed Susans (the yellow flower at the bottom of this bunch in my car!) are an often a forgotten option when it comes to great flowers to grow in a Sydney summer - they are like a smaller heat-loving sunflower making them perfect for summer conditions.
