5 Flowers To Grow In Brisbane (That Like Our Weather)
I started gardening in my Brisbane backyard because I wanted to eat organic vegetables like rocket and lettuce. But when I learned that you grow flowers in the exact same way, more than half of my garden real estate was immediately dedicated to flowers.
I’ve experimented with a range of different varieties over the years, but have narrowed this list down my all time favourite flowers to grow in Brisbane that both work with our very particular climate and that are cool varieties you can’t really get anywhere else.
From bright green bells of Ireland to feathery yellow celosia, these awesome flowers are sooo much more exciting than the gerberas and sad non-fragrant roses in the supermarket. Happy growing!

#1 Zinnia in super bright oranges and pinks are a perfect flower to grow in Brisbane’s summer because they can manage hot weather. Butterflies also really love them. Eden Seeds sells some cool ones here.
